• A recent update of the Starbox plugin is conflicting with the archive excerpts. We use the GeneratePress theme, but I checked with the Twenty Twenty-Four theme, and it’s the same.

Excerpts are not showing on archive pages when Starbox is enabled, but they show again when it is disabled. (We’re leaving it enabled for now, see page link for our archive page.) Please fix, as we love the Starbox plugin.

    Thanks!

    ??Hi,

Thank you for reaching out and I’m sorry to hear about the issues you are facing.

Would you mind letting us know what Starbox version do you currently have? A screenshot of it under WordPress Plugins would be of great help as well.

We keep the plugins up to date, we’re using the latest Starbox, 3.5.1, and the latest WordPress, 6.5.3.

Here’s a screenshot of the settings page for Starbox.

I forgot to mention that we tried it with all other plugins deactivated, so it’s definitely something to do with Starbox.

UPDATE: I tried turning off “Show the Starbox with Top Star theme?in the global feed of your blog under each title of every post” and it fixed the problem.

I’ve updated, and it still does the same thing. If “Show the Starbox with Top Star theme?in the global feed of your blog?(eg. “/blog” page) under each title of every post” is set to “Yes”, the excerpts do not display. Tried again after flushing caches, same result.

For now, we’ll leave that set to “No”.

We have tested with both default and custom themes and it works just fine on our side. Most likely the issue is plugin compatibly, otherwise, there would have been a lot more reports of this issue, which isn’t the case.

What I could recommend is to disable all plugins one by one and see which one causes this issue.
