I was hoping after the latest update 2 weeks ago that I might be finally able to use draw attention with the popular page builder Elementor Pro.

However, as can be seen at the following link: https://watersidewalk.co.uk/draw-attention-test/ I’m still having issues with my interactive site plan image behaving nicely within the site.

Just wondering if anyone else has used the plugin with Elementor and whether they’ve managed to find a workaround as I find DA much more intuitive than image map pro that I had to substitute draw attention with many months ago.

    Many thanks

    Hello @graffig,

I’m sorry that you’re having trouble with this. I know that we’ve had folks use our plugin with the Elementor page builder and have had the images work just fine.

I took a look at the page you linked, but all I see there is the [drawattention] shortcode, so I wanted to double-check with you to be sure that the Draw Attention plugin was installed and activated on the site.

If it’s deactivated, can you please activate it so I can take a look at what the output is and see if I can find why the image isn’t appearing as you’d expect it to?

    Thanks,
    Natalie

    Afternoon Natalie,

Really appreciate you coming back to me so quickly!

I’ve reactivated the plugin again (was a bit under pressure to show the client a fix so activated alternative image map) – as before, the test link can be found here: https://watersidewalk.co.uk/draw-attention-test/

Again, very much appreciate any guidance you can give.

    Thanks,

Thanks Darron, do you happen to have another image map plugin installed here as well? I know there are a couple that conflict with ours (they try to manipulate all image maps, not just the ones their plugin creates).

If have others installed and you’re not able to deactivate them, could you contact our pro support ([email protected]) and we’ll help you dig into it further?

    Thanks,
    Nathan

Also, does our plugin work on a plain non-elementor page? It would be helpful to narrow down whether it’s a conflict with Elementor or possibly just another plugin/theme.

In looking at your image now, we see one hotspot showing up but there’s no title or description entered in the More Info area. Can you add some content in there and we’ll see if it shows up?

    Thanks,
    Nathan

    Good morning Nathan,

Many thanks for getting back to me so quickly – apologies for my delay in replying, I had to visit the client for this particular site to explain we were working on the hotspot element.

I’ve deactivated all other possibly image map plugins that might have been causing a conflict (Image map pro and MapSVG) purchased in haste to try and be able to show the client an idea of what could be achieved.

Incidentally, for some reason their shortcodes are working on the frontend, displaying the hover etc as required, however, as mentioned in my original post, ideally I would like to continue with Draw Attention as I have your plugin installed on a few sites (I created a lot of property development sites – floor/scheme layout plans etc) and find the backend much easier and intuitive and would like to enable these instances of DA again in going forward.

As instructed, I created a non Elementor page, see here: https://watersidewalk.co.uk/draw-attention-non-elementor-page/ and populated the DA backend with a title, description etc, however, as can be seen, the issue still persists.

On all the sites I’ve created as mentioned above, I tend to have the same plugins installed and use the OceanWP theme throughout (https://oceanwp.org/), so finding a solution and possible plugin conflict would be wonderful.

Again, thank you so much for taking the time to reach out directly – hopefully, together we can find a solution.

Finally, if you require access to the backend of the site, please feel free to email me directly at ([email protected]).

    Speak soon,

    Darron
