When I updated to the most recent version of Jetpack, my wordpress interface completely crashed, and the only plugin that appears to be conflicting is Subscribe2. If I activate it, I am redirected to a totally blank screen, and can’t log into my site (or even get a login screen) until I go in via FTP and rename the subscribe2 plugin directory to disable it. I’ve tried the last several updates to Subscribe2, and they all do the same thing. I would really prefer to use Subscribe2 for subscriptions; Jetpack’s subscription functionality is terrible – but I need other Jetpack things like site stats more. Is this any sort of know issue with a resolution?

  • @forgottenweapons,

This sort of error is very difficult to diagnose and it could be caused by a few things.

Firstly, try re-installing Subscribe2 from a fresh download and via and FTP upload – it may be that a file is corrupt or missing on your site.

Next, try disabling all other plugins and then try enabling Subscribe2. If that works check through all of your plugins for a conflict – Jetpack works fine usually – provided sufficient memory is available.

And that brings me to the last point, this type of error on your server really should be getting logged somewhere. If you can’t find the log ask your hosting provider to investigate. A server error message is usually very helpful at identifying a specific cause to site crashed like this.
