    getting error “There has been a critical error on this website.” until I disable this plugin

    A critical error should e reported in detail to the admin email set on WordPress main settings. Have you such message? Or it can be reported in the server error logs.

    You should consider the possibility that some custom code has been configured in the plugin since the plugin itself does almost nothing if left with an empty configuration.
