Hi. I have had this issue for quite a while, and with 15 sites that all use different themes.

As we know, once we enable the SG optimizer / Environment / “HTTPS Enforce” button, the plugin ads a few lines to the .htaccess file.

What happens when a site also uses the popular Jetpack plugin is that after a few hours, or a day or two, the “HTTPS Enforce” button will be back to off position – despite the extra lines in the .htaccess file still show.

And if we use the plugin “Site Kit by Google”, we need to reconnect it since it displays a message that the URL of the site has changed.

The way around I found when using the 3 plugins together (SG optimizer + Jetpack + Site Kit), is to keep the extra lines in the .htaccess file, but with the “HTTPS Enforce” button kept to “off” in the SG Optimizer settings.

You might wish to address that conflict.
    Thanks and regards,
    dom

    Hello @seoservicesbristollimited ,

There are no known or reported conflicts between Jetpack and SiteGround Optimizer that could lead to such behavior. In addition, the toggle button for the HTTPS enforce remains active even if the URLs for site_url and home_url are changed on the database level so it is rather strange that the option will deactivate randomly.

The issue here may be related to some other functionality that we would need to replicate. If you are a SiteGround client please open a Helpdesk request so we can inspect the website and see what could be deactivating the HTTPS enforce.

    Best regards,

    Thanks @georgiganchev

Yes I am, and in previous ticket 4452052 (different topic) I had SG “Vladislav Yastreba” who said he believes “…Jetpack apparently requests the HTTP URL initially…” . That might explain why the SG optimizer plugin toggle button for the HTTPS enforce switches off… and why Site Kit by Google plugin tells me that sites URL have changed…

I have opened a new ticket : 4514886 – but thought you should know.

    Cheers,
