  • Hi,

Booster do not send any email or block any ports, it uses woocommerce emails functionality, that is configuring via WooCommerce > Settings > Emails

Could not comment about Postman SMTP. What additional email functionality you need?

    >Right now i I have the booster plugin active I am unable to use SMTP, all ?ports appear blocked.

if you deactivate Booster, SMTP start working?

Yes Val. Disabling the plugin allowed SMTP.

I am paid user of Booster, just FYI. I use the “Auto Sku” in basic Booster and “product cost basis” in the upgraded version of Booster.

They are the only modules I am aware of being enabled beyond standard install.

I installed Booster and was not able to reproduce the issue. Perhaps its because I don’t have the upgraded version. I would like to be of help if I can.

    Hi Jbkeefer,

we tested on our test server Postman SMTP plugin with free version and paid version of Booster for WooCommerce, no problems found.

    Please try https://docs.woothemes.com/document/increasing-the-wordpress-memory-limit/

@jbkeefer, perhaps your issue is caused by Booster in combination with another plugin which we aren’t testing with.

I suggest you follow my previous advice to help us diagnose your issue:

    1. Install Debug and enable “Error Reporting” and disable “Display Errors at on all website
    2. Enable Postman’s Trace logs Settings > Postman > Advanced > PHP Log Level
    3. Try Postman’s Connectivity Test again and then post the Debug Error Log

    Val,
Thank you for your help and I appreciate testing the plugins together.

    Jason,

    Here is the report.

[26-Sep-2015 15:55:18 UTC] DEBUG Postman: Postman SMTP v1.6.23 starting
[26-Sep-2015 15:55:18 UTC] DEBUG PostmanWpMailBinder: Binding to wp_mail()
[26-Sep-2015 15:55:18 UTC] DEBUG PostmanWpMailBinder: Bound to wp_mail()
[26-Sep-2015 15:55:18 UTC] TRACE PostmanUtils: Postman memory used: 1.27 MiB
[26-Sep-2015 15:55:18 UTC] TRACE PostmanEmailLogPostType: Created post type: postman_sent_mail

It hangs again. I’ll try disabling other plugins.

    Interesting!

With woocommerce booster enabled, I disabled JetPack from Automattic and the mail services worked.

I only used jetpack for the site tracking. It was more of test and I can live without jetpack easily!

I think we are in business, however if you want me to test jetpack to see what module may be causing a problem, let me know. (I actually disabled most everything in jetpack as part of the troubleshooting of this issue.)

Thank you both for your superb attention to this situation.

    Kudos,

    Jamie

You don’t see any NOTICE or WARNING messages in the error log when performing the Connectivity Test?

    (@jbkeefer)

    Nothing Jason.

    Jamie,

did it work when you send test message from Postman ?
I just tried booster, postman + jetpack enabled

test email sent from postman, no problems occurs

does the connectivity test complete with all plugins active?

if so i will continue the troubleshooting process to find true culprit.

    thank you

    Hi,

Test completes with no error with all 3 plugins activated

I can get the three discussed plugins to work by disabling Woof – Woocommerce Product filters and bestwebsoft contact form.

If either of those is active while Jetpack is active, the server test hangs.

    Very interesting.

I am curious what your thoughts are. I do not know how the SMTP Postman test the ports, but just seems unrelated to these plugins – especially woof.

    Thanks again,

    jamie

I’m almost certain the answer is in your error log, there must be more in there than the five lines you’ve posted.
