Conflict with Revolution Slider / Avada theme

I was so excited to have found this plugin but then my IE8 users started reporting that text in the site’s Revolution slider banners was no longer displaying correctly — rather than displaying as large, colored Georgia font it is being changed to a small, gray Arial font. It’s also generating js errors (Invalid procedure call or argument – respond.js).

The banner do not have any hyperlinks in them.

The plugin does do what it’s supposed to in terms of inserting an icon an opening external hyperlinks in a new window — even for IE8 users.
