    Hi Yoast Team!

I’m having trouble this week sorting out a conflict on my clients website with Simply Book booking system who say a Yoast SEO bug is the problem.

I’ve used Yoast on every single 150+ websites I’ve built and never come across such an issue. We may learn something together why this is happening.

Basically the Simply Book booking software is not showing on the front end properly. You won’t see the problem in its entirety at the moment as I’ve had to add CSS rules so my client can continue using. But have screenshots to provide if it helps. Without CSS the booking system is compacted and no style configurations show on the front end.

Simply Book say Yoast SEO replaces the type of script for the SimplyBook.me script. Type must be: application/javascript and not some number/letter code (like it’s showing).

I’ve tried disabling all plugins, used different PHP versions and tried on a standard WP theme installation. The same problem persists.

Can you help me diagnose and solve this issue please?

@lucy_jo Can you please confirm you are using the most recent Yoast v14.5? You can learn more about updating here: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/how-can-i-update-my-free-plugin/

Also, can you confirm you are using WordPress 5.4.2? You can check by clicking on the W in the top left and selecting About. If you need to update, please check with your host provider. Please know that if you are using an older version of WordPress Core you may experience unexpected behavior with Yoast. This guide explains more: https://yoast.com/why-we-dont-support-old-wordpress-versions/

If you have already confirmed that both Yoast SEO and WordPress are up to date and the issue with Simply Book is still occurring when using only those two plugins and a default theme such as TwentyNineteen, we would next recommend checking for JavaScript errors with your console.
If you find any JavaScript errors related to Yoast SEO or if there is a conflict with a plugin or a theme, you can create a new GitHub issue for our developers. Please report the issue to a third party developer as well.

I can confirm all of the above and will create a new GitHub issue.

    Thank you
