    HI there,

I installed Events Manager and spend a lot of time customizing it. But when I uninstall the plugin The Events Calendar from Modern Tribe, it causes Events Manager to not function anymore. I spent so much time customizing the new Calendar and Submit an Event form, I really want to use this plugin, but I need to uninstall the other one so as not to cause confusion with the users. Can you help me uninstall the old plugin without causing the new one to not function?

  • Hi,

Do you mean the problems start when you install the other plugin or uninstall it? Normally plugin conflicts only appear when conflicting plugins are active together.

I am not part of the support team here.. they are a great bunch and very helpful.

Using the Way Back Machine aka archive.org… back in September you were using Modern Tribe… I am guessing you are calling that plugin the “old” one.

I have had an experience with a conflict with that plugin… a year or so ago when I was testing the various calendar plugins etc etc..
There is nothing wrong with Tribe… but sometimes similar plugins will have conflicts.

Looking at your calendar today.. it looks like you have got everything working.. I looked for Javascript errors, and didn’t see anything.

I also looked at the source and didn’t see any traces of Tribe in your code… ie javascript or stylesheets.

Sometimes… deactivating a plugin.. and reactivating it fixes some problems.. maybe you have done that… because I didn’t see any errors.

Since you were using Tribe.. and now have EM working… I am guessing that you are sticking with EM…
.. hopefully you have resolved the issue.

Thank you. I do have it all working, however, I need to uninstall the Tribe Events Calendar. When I deactivate it, the new calendar (Events Manager) gives me an error when I go to its pages. I have to keep both of them activated in order to get it to work.

This is causing confusion with the users, since there is 2 Events menus on the back end.

When I deactivate… (Events Manager) gives me an error when I go to its pages.

Can explain exactly what you see? Is there a particular message that you see? Which URL are you trying to view when you have this problem?

When I deactivate Tribe’s Event Calendar and then try to access one of the pages I set up for your plugin, I get this message:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function tribe_is_event() in /home/mtnhighm/public_html/uvef.seas/wp-content/themes/cake/header.php on line 114

I have to have both calendars installed, in order to make The Events Manager work.

The problem is that you have code relating to using the other plugin in the header file of your theme. You need to remove that before deactivating the other plugin.

This isn’t anything connected with Events Manager.
