    Hello,

We are using your plugin on our site, but it is conflicting with WooCommerce Products post type for some reason.

It is conflicting with part of the products. When we try to edit the those products one of the FAQ Question is loaded instead of the product itself.

This only happens in the admin dashboard. The product single page is working fine.

    ScreenShot

We have four products.. Happens only on the first 2 products.

When we deactivate the plugin, all works normal.

I was able to troubleshoot the issue and looks like it has something to do with the ufaq-category custom taxonomy slug.

When I commented out the registration of that taxonomy all was working normal.
All was working normal when I added new slug for the taxonomy ufaq-category2.

I am not sure how that is leading to this type of issue.

Do you have any solution to this problem without us going and changing the ufaq-category slug?

We like to continue using the plugin without making changes to it or removing it from our site.

    Hi Martin,

That’s definitely a strange one. I wouldn’t think that WooCommerce is also registering a taxonomy called ufaq-category, though, so not sure why changing the taxonomy slug is making a difference.

What it actually sounds like is both the WooCommerce product in question and the FAQ in question have the same post ID in WordPress (our FAQs use a custom post type and each FAQ is a post).

When you’re looking at your list of products in the admin, and you click on one to edit it, it sends you just to the edit screen for that post (post type doesn’t matter). However, if there is an FAQ post with the same post ID as the product you’re trying to open, and the FAQ post is taking precedence, that could be why it’s opening instead.

What happens if you delete those two FAQs and recreate them as new FAQs (so they have different post IDs)? Can you then edit those two products correctly? Alternatively, you could delete the two products and recreate them.

The thing is that WooCommerce does not have same taxonomy and also it is different post id for the product and FAQ.

So when I click on edit on the product takes me to post.php?post=241502&action=edit where 241502 is the correct product ID.

The FAQ that is read in that product is post.php?post=26569&action=edit with 26569 post ID.

The edit on the product opens the Product edit page, just the data shown is from that FAQ. Actually it is the same FAQ on both products when I open them it shows the same.

This is a really weird one and I have no idea how or why the taxonomy slug is related at all.

We will try to delete that FAQ and recreate it again and see what happens.

    Thank you

Hi, we tried deleting the FAQ that was showing, but then another one took its place.. So that doesn’t solve the issue.

We will have to keep your plugin deactivated until a solution is found

This problem is specific to your site. There is definitely no global/ongoing conflict between the FAQ plugin and WooCommerce. The conflict on your site has something to do with Post IDs and/or something that was messed up if you, for example, imported products into WooCommerce or FAQs into our plugin at one point.

Did you try deleting the products and recreating them?

The only other possible thing is that you tried to create an FAQ category in our plugin that matches a WooCommerce product, in order to utilize our FAQ WooCommerce integration, and something was done incorrectly or got messed up in the process. If you did this, then you’ll need to contact us via email or our support center (https://www.etoilewebdesign.com/support-center/) as the WooCommerce integration is a feature of the premium version, discussion of which is prohibited here (https://www.ads-software.com/support/guidelines/#do-not-post-about-commercial-products).
