I’ve just tried Yoast SEO on a blank WordPress 5.8 install and notice 2 huge issues: the editor is not visible, and the Yoast SEO meta box is not full width.

    Please see this screenshot: https://share.getcloudapp.com/Apuz0WD7

I’m testing on Safari on Macbook M1. On Firefox, it seems to work.

    Please fix them.
    Thanks

Thanks for reaching out here, Anh! We are sorry to hear that you’re having trouble with Yoast SEO.

I am afraid to say that I was unable to reproduce the issue on my end. I see the editor goes full screen and has the content area as expected. Please, refer to the attached screenshot here: https://share.getcloudapp.com/5zuY6q49

So, can you please try using a different modern browser while all the browser extensions are disabled to see whether this resolves the issue for you?

Note: I was using the Google Chrome Version 91.0.4472.114 (Official Build) (x86_64).

    Hi,

Thanks for your reply. As I mentioned in the first message, the bug happens only on Safari on Mac (latest versions of both Mac & Safari). It seems to work fine on Firefox and Chrome.

Thanks for your confirmation, @rilwis. Sorry that I missed the point.

Unfortunately, I am still unable to reproduce the issue on my end while using Safari Version 14.1.1 (16611.2.7.1.4) on macOS Big Sur Version 11.4. Can you please try using a different device to see whether the issue persists on there as well? And, make sure that you’re not using a browser’s extension when testing this.

We look forward to hearing from you.

    Hi @rilwis

We tested this on a brand new local site (via Local by Flywheel) with WordPress 5.8, Safari 14.1.1, macOS Big Sur 11.4 (also on M1), and Yoast SEO for WordPress v16.7.

The Yoast SEO meta box and Block editor content area were showing correctly as expected, regardless if you click on the drop-down option or not. Please find the attached screenshot – https://snipboard.io/4Fplt6.jpg

We’re not sure why the Yoast SEO meta box isn’t showing as full-width for you, but would it be possible for you to update your Safari and macOS versions (as they are slightly outdated), and try a brand new local install, and then see if you are still able to reproduce the issue?

Looks like the old Safari is the problem. I’ve upgraded my Mac to 11.5 and the issue is gone!
