This site auto-updated to WP 6.5 this morning. Today the client noticed that the staff directory — which uses List Category Posts — was throwing out errors on the live site:

Deprecated: Creation of dynamic property CatListDisplayer::$parent is deprecated in?/home4/triniuc2/public_html/wp-content/plugins/list-category-posts/include/lcp-catlistdisplayer.php?on line

Simply disabling the plug-in is not a solution. Are you aware of this conflict? How might I resolved it? Thanks.

UPDATE to the page where the problem is: https://www.trinityacademy.org/staff-directory-backup-with-plugin/

We re-wrote the live page to function without the plug-in, but I’d still like to see a solution to this. The plug-in relieves me of having to create a link on this page by hand every time a new staff member is added.

This is not a conflict, this is a warning that does not affect how your site works. It should only appear in your server logs, if it appers on the front end it means your WordPress is misconfigured – you have debug mode enabled and it should never be in production.

The warnings will disappear with a future release of LCP but it is totally safe to ignore them for now. Just make sure debug mode is disabled so that no logs are spamming the front end.
