Conflicting hreflang and rel=canoncial

    I did an audit with Semrush and I got the following errors:

    de Conflicting hreflang and rel=canonical?
    — No self-referencing hreflang?

    Upon checking the html code I found this in regards to hreflang and canonical url:

    We are using WPML for the translation part.

    How can this be conflicting?

    Hello @marcusdeman,

    Thanks for reaching out about your canonical URL and hreflang tags. By default, our plugin will use the page URL as the canonical URL. Was the audit done on a category page?

    Also, can you speak with WPML about the hreflang since your multilingual plugin is responsible for that bit?

    Hi Maybellyne,

    The pages are not category pages.

    What I noticed now based on the Semrush audit is that it views the page with UTM parameters (because we have several of these URL links with them throughout the website).

    The Semrush bot crawls the page and sees that the URL is different than the canonical URL. Is that possible?

    Hello Maybellyne,

    Is there any quick fix for this SEM rush x UTM issues?

    I’ve added 20 links in ahref and now getting 1000 errors in sem rush and not even warnings..

    Please give some solution on top priority.
