• After updating my W3 install to 0.9.7, I experienced weird behaviours with the WP Touch Pro plugin that I’d updated to version 2.8.2.

Thinking it was WPTP problem, I uninstalled the plugin and deleted all files. Yet the weirdness was that a scrambled version of my site was showing on the desktop; at bottom left of screen were the words “Powered by WP Touch Pro 2.8.2.”

How could that be if the plugin and all its files were totally removed from the server?

It must be a cache issue. I couldn’t get rid of the weirdness until I uninstalled W3 and then deleted all files from the server.

    That fixed it!

In WPTP’s support forum, they told me “If W3 Total Cache is not purging correctly or if it continues to override your mobile theme with stored pages, you’ll want to contact the developer directly to let them know what you’re experiencing.”

Well, is this what’s happening? Cache not purging correctly? Sure does look it.

Is there a guide on how to get W3 and WPTP to live together comfortable? WPTP does have one but it’s dated August 2012 and I’m wondering if it’s still valid with all the changes made in W3 0.9.7.

    Thanks.

We’re already working with the WPTP folks and we’re not seeing this issue for others. If you can submit a bug submission form from the support tab of the plugin and then re-deactivate it for now that would be helpful.

Thanks Frederick. I am now extremely reluctant to install either plugin on my live site. Happy to help you troubleshoot, but let me think about your suggestion over the weekend.
