    Hello,

I am check the tutorial at https://woocommerce.com/document/woocommerce-paypal-payments/#testing-in-sandbox

It is quite smoothly to get onboarding to the sandbox mode by Push the button of Test Payments with PayPal Sandbox, and it will automatically create sandbox app at https://developer.paypal.com/

With the latest version of 2.9.3, it seems that it does not allow onboarding Sandbox Mode with Live PayPal account, and please check the screenshot:

    https://prnt.sc/q5dh70VNDebQ

I tried lots of time, and it always show:

It looks like you’ve tried too many times. Try again later, or reset your password.

I am quite sure that I input right email and password of Live PayPal account for login, because I already tried to login live PayPal account several way by log out and login, but still it does allow login to the sandbox mode, and really confused with this issue.

    So, questions please:

1# I know PayPal support register sandbox account at https://www.sandbox.paypal.com/, but, PayPal also provide sandbox mode at PayPal Developer Dashboard — Apps & Credentials at https://developer.paypal.com/dashboard/applications/sandbox, so what is the difference between them?

2# Does it process same way for both  Standard Card Processing and Advanced Card Processing when onboard by pushing the button of “Test payments with PayPal sandbox”? or, it will process in different way when trying onboard sandbox of Advanced Card Processing? what should I expect please?

    Thanks

    Hello @alexli126

Thank you for reaching out with your questions.

I’ve just tested this using the current version (2.9.3) and successfully onboarded the plugin in Sandbox mode while using a live PayPal account, so there doesn’t seem to be a bug on PayPal’s or the plugin’s side. In any case I would recommend to simply use predefined sandbox account from https://developer.paypal.com/dashboard/accounts

However, I must admit I don’t fully understand both of your questions. Could you please provide more details and, most importantly, explain your use case? This will help me give you a clearer answer.

If you’re still having issues, feel free to reach out again, and we’ll assist further.

    Kind Regards,
    Krystian
