This plugin is very confusing and absolutely not intuitive in operation. I did not succeed to restrict content to non-members without unwanted restriction of content to members. Even administrators will be blocked, which is totally nonsense.

I did not find any support threads from you, why did you not open one if you had problems?
As the plugin author I am only interested in that the plugin works properly, and while you are entitled to your opinion, it is very demotivating to get reviews like this.

While I agree that the condition UI might be a little unintuitive in the beginning, I assure you that is entirely possible to restrict content only to a specific user role. That is how hierarchical levels work.

Let me know if you give the plugin another chance.

Yes, you did not find any support threads because I do not know what to ask. I don’t understand the mechanism of your plugin at all.

Why should I create two groups with combination AND OR? I do not see any benefit or advantage.

Why do administrators get blocked from content?

Okay, I’ll givt it a try. I tell you what I want.

Restrict dedicated post types (post, event, etc.) to logged-in users only. I do not want to give non-members access to dynamical content of my website.

I tried all kind of combinations. In case I succeeded to block non-registered visitors from content, I also got restrictions myself (and I am ADMIN!!!).

Maybe you can tell me how to do that?

    Thanks for your support!

Thank you for giving it a shot.

Restrict User Access makes it possible for you to create an unlimited number of conditions. Using logical “and” and “or” allows you to create complex conditions.
E.g. you can make a level that restricts all posts that is written by a specific author and contains a specific tag OR all pages.
No other restriction plugin allows you to do this the same way.

When you create an access level and synchronize it with a role, only users with that role will be able to see the restricted content. Maybe I should make that more clear somehow.
The plugin does not use the role hierarchy (I could write a long post about why that would not be a good idea), but instead you have to create your own hierarchical levels.

In your case, create a new Access Level, synchronize it with the Administrator role and choose the option Extend: Subscribers (or the name of the level you created before).
This will make sure that administrators can view the same content as subscribers.

Let me know if this works for you.

Thank you, Joachim for your support. Meanwhile I found another plugin that fit my purpose and is very easy to use and lightweight. I do not need more than blocking non-registered users from dynamical content. Only pages are accessable. And pages I want to restrict, I can use WP-Members that I use anyway.
