Rats. The video on at https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/plugin-and-theme-updates-vs-plugin-and-theme-automatic-updates/ doesn’t play. I have this same question, but for the Automatic Updates (presumably for WordPress, since auto plugin and auto theme update settings follow) setting near the top, vs. WordPress Core Updates/Wordpress Plugin Updates/Wordpress Theme Updates near the bottom.

Also, I can turn Auto Plugin Updates off, or WordPress Plugin Updates off, or even both – and all the settings on the Plugins tab are green/on. (This wasn’t how it behaved before when they were all on one page??)

I think an explanation of Automatic ____ Updates vs. ____ Updates would be helpful. And also an explanation of the default setting for Plugins and Themes – the “default” setting for updating plugins in WP is off, because WP doesn’t have that functionality?

I’ve looked at these settings up down and sideways and can’t figure out how to set everything.

What I want: Automatic WP core minor releases only, plus plugin and theme updates.

Here are the settings I have:

    General
    Enable All Updates
    Automatic updates > Custom
    Major Releases > Disable
    Minor Releases > Enable
    Development > Disable
    Translation > Disable
    Automatic Plugin Updates > On
    Automatic Theme Updates > On
    Logs > Enable
    Core Notification E-Mails > Enable
    WordPress Core > Enable
    Wordpress Plugin > Enable
    Wordpress Theme > Enable
    Wordpress Translation > Disable
    Browser Nag > Enable
    WP version > Enable

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Your settings look correct. I’m on holiday, but when I get back, I’ll make another video explaining the video topic you desire.

We have others in our playlist. Let me know.
