Confusion with Multiple Domains
-
Hi All. I have 3 urls hosted on same server mysite.com, mysite.de and mysite.fr. and each url points to a separate folder “english”, “german” and “french”. I installed my wordpress in the english folder and I told polylang I wanted each language to use a different url and and specified. When I set static homepage polylang will assign the translation to the new url, but because there is no content there i have to redirect it back to english/index upon which it is loading up the english language version and not the translation. When I use the translation function to create a alternate language version of any other page apart from the homepage, polylang isn’t even assigning those pages to the other language domains, it just create the permalink under the english version.
What am I doing wrong here can someone tell me please? For correct referencing the 3 sites must be completely separate, all english pages under mysite.com/ all german ones under mysite.de/ etc. If I need to make the translation urls point to some subfolder in the main english/wp install folder where do I need to point them to? And why is it not assigning my new pages in german or french to the correct urls i defined in settings, why is it using the english url for everything except the static homepage.
I am also running this on localhost at the moment for development. I have been struggling for the last two days trying to set this up ?? There simply doesn’t seem to be any clear tutorials explaining how to set this up correctly. Can anyone help
