I see a lot of articles explaining how to modify the .htaccess file to force the www into your site URL links. But I thought the use of www was supposed to fade away? So, is there a reason to use www and/or take any measures with the .htaccess file?

One reason I ask is that I’m building XML sitemaps for Google/Yahoo/etc and now I don’t know whether or not to include the www in the URLs.

In the Dashboard>Settings page I have it without the www, and I’m assuming that is what is forcing my browser to not include the www in the address window. True?

    Thanks,

    Tom
