If google maps aren’t working with your current theme and it says it does I’d recommend reaching out to the authors of the theme first, perhaps they could offer a solution? If you paid for the theme they might offer support.

I would definitely follow @yobani’s advice first. Afterwards, if you still need a Google Maps plugin, I use the paid version of https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/google-maps-easy/ on a couple of my sites. The free version works fine for basic requirements however you need the paid version to allow users to add their own entries.
