    If i only use the mobile feature do i need to be connected?

    By default, Jetpack needs to be connected to your WordPress.com account for the plugin to be completely active.
    If you do not want to use any of the features that require a WordPress.com connection, you can enable Jetpack’s development mode: it will allow you to activate all the modules that don’t require a connection to WordPress.com.
