    Hi everyone,
we want to build a Google Data Studio dashboard to get more insight into our company data.
What’s your preferred way of connecting Woocommerce data (orders, stock, customers) to Google Data Studio? Ideally we want to automatize and not have to do a manual export/import once a week or something.

    Looking forward to your tips!

  • Hi there!

That sounds like an interesting project!

In this case, I believe the ideal path might be to use our WooCommerce REST API.

This way, you can automatically get all the data from your WooCommerce installation and add it to Google Data Studio.

Feel free to get back to us anytime if you need further help.

Ah, thanks. I was hoping someone has a (commercial) solution already available… I’m not a programmer myself, so the REST API is a little advanced for me.
I can’t be the only one wanting more insight in my data though, I wonder what other woocommerce-based ecom companies are using?

    Hi again,

I don’t see an already created solution for this integration.

We do have integration with other similar solutions such as Metorik, but not exactly for Google Data Studio.

As you are not a developer, an option is also to check our customizations page with some partners that can help you by providing these services: https://woocommerce.com/experts/

We found this specific partner who mentioned having some experience with Data Studio: https://partners.woocommerce.com/English/marketplace/partner/1742815/hall

I also found the following solution, but it wasn’t developed or tested by our team, so I don’t really know if it works as expected: https://www.powermyanalytics.com/integrations/data-studio/woocommerce/

    Hey Lise,

    I’m Eric from Metorik. ??

As Felipe mentioned, Metorik connects with Google Analytics and Google Ads — so it might be of help to you.

While we don’t connect directly to Google Data Studio, you may be able to see the insights you are looking for directly in Metorik and create custom dashboards similar to Google Data Studio. Everything is automatically synced directly from your WooCommerce store.

If you had any questions feel free to email us at [email protected].

    Hi Eric,
Thanks for your reply. I actually tried Metorik a year or so ago. Good insights, but not exactly what we’re trying to do.

I’ll give you one specific example :

We work with 2 different 3rd party logistics providers that fulfil our orders (one in europe, one in the USA). We only really know what the total shipping cost of a specific order is, after it sent out (and possibly after it’s been returned).

I want to combine my woocommerce data + the invoices from my 3PL to figure out what the real profit is from each specific order, regardless of what the customer was charged in shipping costs.

I also want to use the data to do a lot more stock forecasting per region. As far as I can tell, that’s not really what Metorik offers at the moment, right?

    Hi Lise,

Whilst we don’t have anything for combining the WooCommerce data and invoices in Metorik.

We do have an External costs system so once you know the cost of the order you can add it to WooComemrce as a custom field and then Metorik can sync and provide reports based on that.

More on our costs system here and the article here

In terms of forecasting, we do now how a base velocity report for forecasting however it isn’t based on region at this time, so whilst we maybe able to help in some ways, probably not a 100% solution to what you are wanting here at the moment.
