    Hello,
    I downloaded the WPForms Lite plugin.
    I managed to set up everything except the email to be sent to when the client fills out the form. Can anyone please tell me where and how to set up my email?
    Thank you

  • Hi lee0310,

    I’d be happy to help!

    Here’s out tutorial on setting up automatic notification emails.

    In Lite, you’ll be able to set up a single notification email — however you can send this to as many people as you like. If you add more than one email address to the Send To Email Address field (in the form builder under Settings > Notifications), just be sure to separate those emails with a comma. For example:

    {admin_email}, [email protected]

    And if you’d like to send an email to the person who filled out the form, you can use a Smart Tag to pull the email address they entered. Here’s a short screencast video I created to show how to add this Smart Tag.

    Last, after setting up your notification settings be sure to run a couple of test submissions. If you notice any email delivery issues during those tests, or just want to take a good preventative measure either way, I’d recommend setting up an SMTP. Here’s our tutorial with more details on why SMTPs are useful and our recommended options.

    I hope that helps! If you have any questions, please let me know ??

    Hello Jess,

    I m also having the same issue. I have done what you have suggested and installed the WP Mail SMTP plugin and the test email has sent through but the submission still does not come through. can you help?

    Hello!
    I went through the points you suggested, but when sending the test email i received the following notification:

    Auth Code: No
    Access Token: No

    Server:
    OpenSSL: Yes
    PHP.allow_url_fopen: No
    PHP.stream_socket_client(): Yes
    PHP.fsockopen(): Yes
    PHP.curl_version(): Yes
    Apache.mod_security: No

    Debug:
    cURL error 77: Problem with the SSL CA cert (path? access rights?) (see https://curl.haxx.se/libcurl/c/libcurl-errors.html)
    cURL error 77: Problem with the SSL CA cert (path? access rights?) (see https://curl.haxx.se/libcurl/c/libcurl-errors.html)
    Error while sending via Gmail mailer: cURL error 77: Problem with the SSL CA cert (path? access rights?) (see https://curl.haxx.se/libcurl/c/libcurl-errors.html)

    Do you have any suggestions?

    Hi traerobb12,

    I apologize for the delayed reply!

    If the test email is working but the form’s emails aren’t, this is generally because of an issue with the notification settings. I’d recommend opening your form builder and going to Settings > Notifications to check the settings there.

    The most common issue we see is with the From Email — this must be the same email you set up the SMTP with. If you give that a try and still see any delivery issues, I’d next recommend checking that all of the other fields are set up properly (you can use this guide to check).

    I hope that helps! ??

    Hi zoldxvii,

    Based on that debug log, it looks like there may be permissions issues on the server your site uses. Specifically in this case, permissions issues in the curl library.

    The best next step is to contact your site’s hosting provider, show them this debug log, and ask them to check on those permissions.

    I hope this helps! When you’ve had a chance to reach out to your site’s host, could you let me know how that goes and if you have any additional questions?

    Thanks! ??

    Thank you Jess for the quick reply, I’m on it!
    Balazs
