recheck if you put the correct database info in wp-config.php

It sounds like you want 2 different sites to point to the same database.

However, the site URL in the database must also be set correctly. You can get around this by editing the config file and defining the URLs there. See the first section of https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Changing_The_Site_URL

Yeah and also check that the rest of the database info is correct.
