Is it possible to connect the reviews from different pages? For example, if I enable reviews on the homepage of my site and enable them on the contact page of my site, is it possible to link the reviews so they would show up on both pages? I was trying to figure a way to link them, so if someone leaves a review on one page it would also show up on the other page. Thanks.

  • Yes, the short code is supposed to work, so that you can add reviews from one page to another page using PAGE ID=”1″ or whatever the page ID actually is, which you can find by mousing over the EDIT link in Pages for the page you specifically want to reference.

Here’s what an example shortcode might look like:

    [WPCR_SHOW POSTID=”1351″ NUM=”5″ PAGINATE=”1″ PERPAGE=”5″ SHOWFORM=”0″ HIDEREVIEWS=”0″ HIDERESPONSE=”0″ SNIPPET=”140″ MORE=”view more” HIDECUSTOM=”1″ ]

I found that there may be a bug and the short code is not displaying the reviews from the Page ID for me, at the moment. And, I’m going to report this to the plugin developer so they can tell me why or fix it to make sure it’s working.

The other thing, which I really don’t like, is that the plugin developer requires you to give them your email address to enable all the settings tabs in the plugin. You can find this when you install the plugin and there is a single settings tab. And if you answer yes or no as to whether you agree to display a powered by WP Customer Reviews link below the reviews on the page you enable the reviews for.

So, you may not be seeing the short code reference, because it’s on a hidden tab that you cannot see unless you give them your email address and they enable all tabs.

@papillion, yes, the short code should work for you although you may not need all the variables Tony listed above.

Tony states you are required to enter an email address to see the settings. This is false. It was not required, but to clarify, we changed the wording and some other functionality to make it clear. It is now a mute point.

You can see the code reference by going to Reviews > Plugin Settings > How To Use.

I have been trying to figure out how to use the plugin to have product reviews on each “product” page, and then display them all on a testimonies page. Where I get caught, is the client would like to give the option to provide a review on the generic testimony page with a button at the top of the page. I am using the postid=”all”, but that moves the review button to the bottom of the page. Any way I can get that to display at the top with hard code maybe? Or is there a better way to allow each of the loan officers to have their personal reviews on their page and combine them all on a general page? To complicate things, the client is a mortgage company, the loan officers are the “products” – each with their own page. When loan officers leave and we delete their page, then the review is without a “product” if that makes sense. Would like to keep the review, and have them default to a generic product like “Landmark Mortgage”. Website is thevillagesmortgageloans.com. Thanks

@CindyOT SEO, for next time please post to a new thread so we can keep them separate. Thanks!

    – The reviews and button go together and can’t be separated at this time

    – For each loan officer, you can display their reviews using the POSTID of the page, and yes, you can show all reviews on a generic page using the POSTID=”ALL”. If the original review post is deleted, try going to review, and in the Review Details section change the Reviewed Post to the generic page.

    Hope that helps.
