I am very new to wordpress so please excuse my ignorance. My client has a website already made on wordpress. I have wordpress setup to my wampserver database with a startup account. I was able to set it up, connect and create a site. But I don’t want to start anew! My trouble is connecting to existing WordPress Site from what I have setup!

Is it possible to add another WordPress site to work locally on? and if so how can I go about this?

does exporting my client’s wordpress and then importing to my localhost supposed to work? so i can edit it locally because I have tried that and nothing happened

Ok an update I have downloaded the plugin, duplicator, to the client’s live site and now I am processing the installer to my database so hopefully I am at the right track! If anyone needs help at my same problem look at this youtube video it is very helpful. And if you are using wamp use the www folder to put your database name then put your install/zip under your database folder!!

GL hopefully this works my client’s website is 1.2gb so I will update once I am finished!

Oh no I got an error when trying to upload it to my database! https://gyazo.com/caaeeecdf7f10f9208b42c19ea25e74d

Im not sure what it is suggesting! If anyone could please help!

    [Pass] Is Writable by PHP
[Fail] Contains only one zip file
Result = Too many zip files in directory
Note: Manual extraction still requires the archive.zip file

The following link helped me get started:

Scroll down to a post by Sunny Johal where he posted a 10-step guide. Post if you run into other issues, but this should be as straightforward as it can get. My process was a little more involved, but I don’t want to confuse you with unnecessary details.
