• Having an impossible time opening a WordPress site into my Dreamweaver CC editor.

I did my first WordPress site 1 ?-years ago. I use the Weaver II theme, with this present, third site, a sub-theme of twenty-eleven light, which is set up for Responsive/Mobile design.

Dreamweaver is my choice for creating regular, custom, web sites. This past January I studied several Lyndia.com tutorials on using Dreamweaver in conjunction with WordPress, plus many other Google searches.

The juncture that is not functioning for me is on my Mac having the MAMP being recognized by my Dreamweaver CC program. The MAMP is live each time that I open my computer with a green dot next to “Apache Server” and “MySQL Server” in the Preferences/Open start page/Stop Servers MAMP box.

The pathway for MAMP is as listed in all instructions: Applications > MAMP > htdocs > (then into a ‘root’ folder for the web site, which has the downloaded 3.9 WordPress Files). My Dreamweaver program does open this ‘root’ folder, but I cannot work/edit on my actual WordPress site. In other words Dreamweaver does not recognize the “localhost”. I can do edits in the WordPress site directly through WordPress, but not the goal of editing in conjunction with Dreamweaver.

The present WordPress site that I am working on is: https://www.lowellreiland.com/ahnirocheleauwp

Over the past two weeks I have read a multitude of WordPress Forums surrounding MAMP connection problems (in Macs) and I have followed several resulting directives by your moderators, but none have solved my problem. The last non-successful WP Forum related post was listed on your site four months ago, or https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/mamp-localhost-mysql-database?replies=12 , which lists my same exact problem of not having the localhost, or a live WP site on my computer (in my case) through Dreamweaver.

How may I solve the above dilemma?
