Connection for off-site images?

Hi,

I have a weather widget form another website, that pulls in non-ssl icons from that website and because of that my site shows as insecure though I use ssl.

I know that this maybe not the intention of this plugin, BUT, do you know of any plugin solution where I could like preload/cache this widget in some way and present it as secure for my website visitors.

The widget pulls a javascript file from their domain and that javascript pulls the icons, so I can not change that in any way.

I have contacted the website owners, but they do not respond to my emails in any way and seems to ignore the fact that it is “de facto” standard in 2017 to use ssl in/on websites.

Please help me out if you or any of the visitors on this support forum have an idea how to solve this problem, I think this would be a great plugin idea, since many websites out there is having this issue with external loads.
