After upgrading to 4.1.9 I am having issues with other plugins connecting to servers. JetPack could not resolve the www.ads-software.com domain as well as the WP news feed could not resolve. Disabling this plug-in fixes the issues.

Let me know any other information you need. I am a PHP Developer but just don’t have the time to debug this script at the moment.

    Thanks,
    Rick

Can I ask what that had you change? For some reason I am still having issues and want to look and see what else could be going on if this solves the other person’s issues. I assume it is something in the WP HTTP objects. Not sure if you hook into it at anytime.

    Hey Rick,

The change set in the release is here: https://github.com/thenadz/document-gallery/commit/cd70a165b43f14552e016d9f4f27bc11923210d1.

I’ve been very swamped with work the past month or so, but will try to find time to develop some test code to identify what else may be going wrong. One thing you might try as a short term fix is commenting out the add filter call for “allowed_http_origin” at the top of that file in the change set, though that is by no means a long term solution.

Oh I understand the work thing. I will play around on my test server when I get some time. It seems like it was when the Thumber stuff was put in place. If I am the trouble case don’t stress. I will try and see what I can see when I get some time. Slammed at work as well and this is for the non-profit local Little League program I help with. I have a workaround for now.

Can I jump in as I was about to post a new issue, but see that this is the same thing I am having –
Hi, I have been having troubles with my site, I can’t add new plug in and jet pack wouldn’t connect. I have spoken to hosting and they have said it must be a plug in. So I have gone through each plug in, the culprit is Document Gallery. I noticed that you had been having issues so I deleted and downloaded the most up to date version, says it was updated 2 days ago. Same problem occurs. I get a grey screen with ‘unexpected error’ if I try to go to ‘add new plug in’, also Jetpack won’t connect to wordpress when DG is active.

I’m not a developer, so I use a plug in to avoid having to get into code, so not too happy trying to add/remove code as per your workaround. Just letting you know that the issue has not been fixed by your latest release.

Hi I am having the exact same issue!!!!!!!!! I posted on a seperate thread, document gallery has broken my entire site, causing wordpress connection issues, and preventing me from updating plugins and wordpress as well. Please believe us.

Please have some patience with the developer.

    Dan,
So I decided to install fresh copy of WordPress and Document Gallery on a test server using Vagrant. No issues with connections so far and I have xDebugged to crap out of the plugin. So I am stumped why it is occurring on the production side. I am going to try and re-create my production server on my Vagrant box and see what I can find there. Very odd issues..

Just as a side not, who having the issue is also hosting on HostGator?

    Hostgator here

I’m also Hostgator. They have looked into it for me though and said it was a plug in, not saying which one. So it was me going through each one that showed the DG problem.

Do you guys have SSL? My site has no SSL. Hostgator offered insight that the plugin may be calling SSL somewhere in the code, and when SSL doesn’t exist on the site when it was called, it causes issues on servers.

By the way you’re awesome and thanks for your support of this plugin ??

All, just to give an update on this. I am now thinking that this is most likely an issue on HostGator’s end so I’m working through their support hierarchy to try and verify that. I’ll keep everyone posted.

As a work around, if you need DG to be working now, I recommend downgrading to 4.0, which should not have this issue. The zip containing 4.0 is available here. To install, simply uninstall DG, then on the plugins “Add New” window, upload the zip.

Thank you all for your patience in this matter!

Thanks Dan. Your plugins still works, it is only causing issues with wordpress server connectivity and preventing other plugins from being updated and installed.

    Dan,
Just to add some more fun to this, mine is working again. I started commenting out the thumber class, it worked, so I took the comment out and it still worked. So not sure if HG fixed something or what.

Thanks again for your hard work. Starting work on my own plugin for the Little League I help and know it can be some work.
