Hi,

I know, there are some posts out there with the same issue but there has not been a single solution that worked fine for me.

We’re getting the message “Connection lost. Saving has been disabled until you’re reconnected.” only when we are updating posts of type “post”. There are 40308 data sets in our database of this type. The error appeared all of a sudden about two weeks ago and it won’t go away. We tested this on macOS and Windows by using Chrome, Firefox and Safari. We tested using fast and slow internet connections, cable and WiFi.

We haven’t installed new plugins at the time, the problem started. Meanwhile, WordPress and almost all of the plugins are updated.

The server is managed by ourselves. We cleaned and optimized the database and the server has been rebooted several times.

Is there anybody out there who has got the same problem and who found a way to get rid of it?

Try:
1. https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Editing_wp-config.php#Modify_AutoSave_Interval

2. If that does not help resolve the issue, this may be a plugin or theme conflict. Please attempt to disable all plugins, and use one of the default (Twenty*) themes. If the problem goes away, enable them one by one to identify the source of your troubles.

thanks for trying to help!

After checking a lot of code, I realized, that there was a theme function, trying to connect to a caching server, every time a post was updated, but the server didn’t respond. I think that was the reason why no answer to my problem helped.

So if there’s anybody out there having the same problem but nothings helping, try searching your code for add_action( ‘save_post’, SOME_FUNCTION ). Maybe your problem’s in SOME_FUNCTION.
