    Hi,

I’m trying to use SMTP option to send emails through an SMTP server.
The authentication on the SMTP host is disabled, the SMTP host IP address is correct, however, I’m getting this error when trying to send a test email:

    Mailer: Other SMTP
SMTP Error: Could not connect to SMTP host. Failed to connect to serverSMTP server error: Failed to connect to server SMTP code: 110 Additional SMTP info: Connection timed out

On the SMTP host side, in the firewall, they unblocked my website’s public IP address.

So my question is – if I use Other SMTP option, would they see the IP address of my website trying to establish connection with SMTP host or does the WP Mail SMTP
plugin use it’s own IP address?

    Thanks,
    Taras

    Hi @tarasbilous,

Thanks for reaching out! The WP Mail SMTP plugin bridges a connection between your WordPress site and your mailer service. This connection makes it, so emails sent by your WordPress site are funneled over and delivered by your authenticated email account.

Basically, they will see your website IP.

    I hope this helps. Thanks!
