    Hi,

Email support has been anything but forthcoming in trying to fix or look into what seems to be a simple css styling issue. My site is still in construction and not supposed to be viewed yet. But after continued pleas to give access for them to look into it, even after I clearly made live screenrecordings of what happens to the button, I open up the homepage overnight upon direct request, only to see no more response since. That is not being serious imo. Meanwhile I continue to get more annoyed as the days pass.

The button is simply misaligned, because clearly the embedded link that makes it clickable only works when hovering the pointer in the very right region of the button.

Still, they demand access to the homepage to even consider taking a look, and when I finally give it after 4 days, I’m left once more to dry. Not serious.

I included a screen recording of what happens, to clearly illustrate the issue. If I knew css perhaps I could troubleshoot it myself, but I do not so I cannot. But I am sure it is a simple issue that needs little to be fixed. But again, NOT getting any real help here…gonna be forced to mention the buggy behavior to the users via the banner and hope they get it. Not good advertising for complianz either, but what am I supposed to do? that button needs to work… ??

See here for recording of the button action: https://i.imgur.com/zjRgfL8.mp4

Also, in the cookie policy generated by complianz, the cookie selection menus no longer work. They did at first, but I’ve just noticed they’re frozen, and remain frozen no matter what I do… See here for screenshot: https://i.imgur.com/7OxBGdI.png

I really hope that someone here can offer some genuine assistance, cause via email support it has been six days of fruitless back and forth with some rather uninterested specialists. You can feel they know their game, but aren’t really helpful, likely because I’m not a paid customer.

So anyone, the help is extremely appreciated. I would like to finally get some progress and move on.

    Hi,

I did have the soft cookie-wall enabled, but disabling it changes nothing.

I was able to reproduce that screenshot: https://i.imgur.com/XyRW6rG.png

The mouse pointer does change to a finger when hovering over the ‘placed cookies’ menu, but other than that there is no indication of selection or anything.

I don’t know what an a-z issue is, but I’m still with you…

Hi, I have been able to narrow down the ‘Manage Consent’ button issue to the Blocksy companion plugin. When disabling it, the button has the link correctly embedded and is fully clickable.

But the menu in the cookie policy remains unchanged…

So at least the button issue is caused by the blocksy companion plugin.
It’s a plugin that adds functionality to the blocksy theme.
I’ll see if I can do without, not sure about that…

So the consent button is definitely a css issue caused by that plugin. I’ve asked the blocksy forum about it. Meanwhile the cookie policy menu remains frozen, not related to that other issue…

I hope to hear back from you about it, I’ve checked that last thing you said.

    grtz.

    Hi @yhsh,

For the cookie policy, please check if you have any jQuery errors, and up-to-date jQuery version.

If you serve static pages via caching and/or CDN try to clear everything.

    Let me know,

    regards Aert

    Hi,

I already cleared cache several times, and there are no errors, only a warning that the matomo.js script has failed loading.

    Hi @yhsh,

    This shouldn’t be an issue.

To figure it out what it could be is disabling all plugins and switching to a standard theme.

If it works, you can work your way back by activating and checking after every plugin.

If it doesn’t, maybe reinstalling Complianz will do the trick.

This is what I would do to check at least to see if there’s a compatibility issue,

    Hi,

    disabling all plugins changes nothing.

I did find this additional warning in inspector after clearing browser cache: https://i.imgur.com/rhzdORO.png

Invalid URI, loading of media resource data failed.

    Hi @yhsh,

Does it say which source and what kind of data?

With that being said, with all plugins disabled and a standard theme, jQuery enabled, no caching or CDN and a otherwise working plugin, it’s hard to figure out what it might be, as there have not been any other issues from the moment we published this change in Complianz months ago.

I’m happy to figure it out for you, but we default back to email, as we need to look at the files and set-up.

    regards Aert

I’m not that versed in this, but I didn’t enable ‘jQuery’ or anything, I just loaded the page and used inspector to see what warning or error would show in the bottom…

I may have overlooked something, so how do I enable jQuery and look for those errors? Pls explain to someone who has ‘no’ experience with this and needs step by step instructions…. :/

So to check my jquery version and errors it might have, how do I do that correctly? I use firefox, and i am looking in the web developer section, using ‘inspector’…

I think I found something here, I used the debugging tab in inspector for the cookie policy page, and a BUNCH of errors are listed there, mostly ‘declaration dropped’ for font smoothing and style features…but there is one in particular reading

“Unknown pseudo-class or pseudo-element ‘-ms-input-placeholder’. Ruleset ignored due to bad selector.”

Also, in the function tab there is this :

    !function(){“use strict”;function e(e){try{if(“undefined”==typeof console)return;”error”in console?console.error(e):console.log(e)}catch(e){}}function t(e){return d.innerHTML=’‘,d.childNodes[0].getAttribute(“href”)||””}function r(e,t){var r=e.substr(t,2);return parseInt(r,16)}function n(n,c){for(var o=””,a=r(n,c),i=c+2;i<n.length;i+=2){var l=r(n,i)^a;o+=String.fromCharCode(l)}try{o=decodeURIComponent(escape(o))}catch(u){e(u)}return t(o)}function c(t){for(var r=t.querySelectorAll(“a”),c=0;c<r.length;c++)try{var o=r[c],a=o.href.indexOf(l);a>-1&&(o.href=”mailto:”+n(o.href,a+l.length))}catch(i){e(i)}}function o(t){for(var r=t.querySelectorAll(u),c=0;c<r.length;c++)try{var o=r[c],a=o.parentNode,i=o.getAttribute(f);if(i){var l=n(i,0),d=document.createTextNode(l);a.replaceChild(d,o)}}catch(h){e(h)}}function a(t){for(var r=t.querySelectorAll(“template”),n=0;n<r.length;n++)try{i(r[n].content)}catch(c){e(c)}}function i(t){try{c(t),o(t),a(t)}catch(r){e(r)}}var l=”/cdn-cgi/l/email-protection#”,u=”.__cf_email__”,f=”data-cfemail”,d=document.createElement(“div”);i(document),function(){var e=document.currentScript||document.scripts[document.scripts.length-1];e.parentNode.removeChild(e)}()}();

I guess this is what you are looking for, clearly an error in the console, and I take it the console is the menu selector….

Those other ‘declaration dropped’ warnings are (i think) due to complianz taking over the css styling and thus the theme css defaults are dropped. But this one console error is suspicious…

    See screenshot included: https://i.imgur.com/0VCI9bW.png

Is this what we are looking for ?

    groet Aert
