    Hey support team,

I’m using the free version, so i’m aware consent mode 2 isn’t directly supported.
I also use Google Site Kit together with the WP Consent API.

    Note:
I only use anonymized Google Analytics (consent mode enabled)
I DO NOT use Tag Manager

However I’ve followed this post, to integrate the consent buttons accordingly.
    https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/google-consent-mode-free-2/

When testing, the G100, G101 and G111 are set correctly according to my preferences.

However i noticed that the _ga cookie is set prior giving any consent!

    ComplianZ wizard is set to:
    x Yes, with Google Analytics
x I have accepted the Google data processing amendment
x Google is not allowed to use this data for other Google services
x IP addresses are anonymized or let Complianz do this for me.

If i’m not mistaken, setting the _ga cookie prior consent is illegal, even though i use anonymized data only. But it’s hard to find information since everyone only seems to use Tag Manager and not Analytics only.

Looking forward to some answers, and hopefully a solution.

    Thanks.

    Hi @everade,

Could you provide an URL to the website where we can see this behavior?

    Kind regards, Jarno

Unfortunately i can’t do that, as tracking without consent would be illegal. So there’s no way i could share a website like this with anyone signing a contract beforehand.
So are you suggesting that i did everything right and it should have been working accordingly using the free version?

    Hi @everade,

No, as Consent Mode support is not included in the Free plugin and you’re using a custom snippet to achieve the desired results; it would be rather challenging to accurately indicate what the reason for the described behavior might be, without being able to see the site in question to check the implementation.

    Kind regards, Jarno

Is Google Consent Mode needed to allow Google Ads to work?
So if you have Ads, you must pay for the PAid version of this plugin, to allow the Ads Conversion to work?
