Consistent Image size – as in no go if they are not
-
Hey! First: awesome plugin. So my issue may stem from the fact that I am using digital artwork and not photos from a digital camera. Meaning the images have no EXIF data attached. But I wanted to report it and see what you thought…
I have a gallery on one of my pages where I am using this. Said gallery is coded with the wp_query and styled with CSS. There is no plugin involved other then Meow Lightbox. Everything functions on the front end and I am happy with the results. BUT…
The problem comes when actually adding my media. the original batch of images for testing were 600X600px square. The work great. When I went to upload additional images that were either 600X400 or 400X600 (landscape and portrait) the problem begin. The query pulls them fine on the initial gallery, but when I open the lightbox for the images in question it can’t find the images. It will however show the title and the caption which is fine. I look at the HTML output and it is trying to pull the image but it cant display.
My solution was to recrop the images in Gimp leaving thier dimentions in tact but adding a transparent background. So the image becomes a 600X600 .png image. Then I re crop the thumbnail in WordPress and everything works great. So no real complaint, but it seems an inelegant solution.
So square images seems to be fine, its when we get into odd sized things that a workaround needs to be found. Just odd is all. =) Other than that functioning great with my workaround. Is there a way to make this work with a mix of images that have 600px as either the width or the height, along with the square images?
