I have to reauthorize this plugin almost every time an update is sent out. It’s cumbersome and has to be redone time after time on all 35+ of my sites.

    Clearing cache does not help.

This time around, I’m getting 401s on a few. Last time it was a message about requiring authorization. Some are staying authorized. I am not seeing a common thread (except they’re all on the same host).

  • So those are different sites, we are not talking about sites under the same network (multisite install) right?

Do you use a single Google account for all those sites?

All different sites; no multisite installs.

All one Google account, old-style. I still haven’t figured out Universal.

That’s your issue, you’re infact authorizing accounts in an infinite loop.

You can’t have more than 25 authorization tokens on a single account. If a multisite network is not an option (on a multisite install you’ll need a single token), I’ll suggest you either use two Google accounts either allow your site owners (if there are any) to use their own Google account.

And yes, you can still have all stats in one account, using the “User management” feature.

Oh, by the way, you should migrate to Universal Analytics ASAP!

Dang! Wonder why Google Analytics continues to let me add my sites. It says I can have up to 100 (and yes, they’re all my sites).

Sorry for the confusion. Feel free to remove this support post if possible (I doubt anyone else is being as block-headed about GA as I seem to be).

I can’t, only moderators can do that :), I’m just the plugin developer, I can’t moderate here.

    You got it ??

Every thread here contributes to a valuable and searchable public record of answers. Some day, someone will be looking for this very issue, and they’ll see Alin’s great answer, and they’ll be very thankful to both of you. ??

As such, we really can only delete threads around here if there is a valid security or personal safety concern: https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Forum_Welcome#Deleting_.2F_Editing_Posts

That makes perfect sense, James. I understand, and can see the reasoning behind leaving such posts in place.
