• Been using WPForms a long time (and own Pro license) and love it. Posting this here just in case someone from WPForms would like some honest feedback on new version / feature.

One annoying thing in the latest version – they’ve enabled “weekly email summaries” by default.

While it’s no big deal to just go into WPForms > Settings > Misc and Disable the summaries if you’re only in charge of one or two sites, it’s a real PITA / time-suck when you’re in charge of 80+ sites.

And while to some people those weekly email summary notices to site admin might not seem like something that should be annoying, it definitely is for those of us who handle everything for their clients. Many reasons, but to name a few:

    – Clients / site owners are wondering why they’re suddenly receiving these, creating more emails for me to respond to and explain to them.

    – If the site owner is receiving the summary email, then obviously they’re already receiving the form submissions and it’s a waste of resources to send them a “Hey, you got 3 emails this week from your site form” notice. They already know.

    – Just more work for the server / mail server / mail queues

    – With no true benefit (in my opinion and the other designers / clients I work with – we all agree on this).

But that’s my only “complaint” about WPForms. I still rate it 5 stars and it’s better / easier than all the other form plugins I’ve tried over the years, and much more powerful than it looks on the surface.

I do wish it was capable of handling PayPal Recurring Subscriptions in addition to the standard PayPal “Buy” or “Donate” feature that is built-in. Maybe someday they’ll find a way to integrate PayPal’s subscription capability…

    Still, awesome plugin!

  • Hi anotherdave,

We really appreciate your honest feedback, and even that you kindly shared this in a support thread ??

I definitely understand your totally valid frustrations with Email Summaries given the large number of sites you’re managing. I don’t have a solution to offer right now, but I’ve shared your feedback with our team. Also, our developers are going to be adding a filter to turn these emails off (likely not much of a time-saver if all if all sites are single installs, but hopefully useful to anyone running multisite installs).

For PayPal recurring payments, one of the biggest reasons that we don’t offer this yet is simply demand — there was (and is) much more demand for Stripe recurring payments among our users. But of course we always appreciate hearing about any features you wish we had, and I’ve added your vote for this one to our feature request list.

Thanks so much for using our forms, and for taking the time to share all of this. Please know that we share all feedback like this around the team, and it’s all very much appreciated ??
