Consutancy about server requirements

    We will be acquiring a system of servers to run a medium traffic (3.000.000/month) news website basically running WordPress, PHPBB and OpenX. Last week we installed WordPress on our servers, which were already running PHPBB, and the servers collapsed for eight ours. WordPress had to be uninstalled.

    We were offered a system by theplanet consisting of three servers, two with load balancing and third with the database. Is there anyway to calculate if the proposed servers will stand the load ? What characteristics of the servers do I need to know ? Do you offer consultancy on this area ?

    Anyone knows an effective way to contact automattic? They do no answer questions send over the contact form!

    That will easily handle the web traffic and more importantly, the MySQL traffic. As long as theyre just for you.

    Dont let them install Linux. Make them install FreeBSD instead.
