contact author without revealing email

I’d like any number of users to contact any author from any number of posts. Like someone placing an advert would get emails from many users responding to that ad. WITHOUT displaying the authors private email.

In WP I can’t see a way of doing it.

nearest solution is displaying author at the bottom of the post and then searching for that author in a list. Not very user friendly.

No direct link exists?? Surely thats fundamental??

It looks like an embedded contact form may work but haven’t found the plugin/script to do it.

Can anyone help? I may even have abudget for this!
