    I am looking for a way to include a contact form on my homepage, can this be done via a widget? Or can it be included on a separate page within this theme?

    The best way to include a contact form in a page is with a shortcode. I would recommend a plugin like WP Forms which provides a widget and a shortcode for every form you create.
