Contact Form 7 fails now?

I have completed the plug-in installation, API register and adding the site key’s. in theory everything is working, BUT!!

I am getting the orange (spam) box with “Failed to send your message. Please try later or contact the administrator by another method.” whenever I hit send.

I get the error regardless of if I complete the captcha or not.
If I do complete the captcha, I get the green check mark suggesting it worked. What am I missing>?
