    Hi,

I installed Gmail SMTP v1.1.8 and I am using last version of CF7 v5.1.1.
    Installation was successful.

CF7 does not send forms (“There was an error trying to send your message. Please try again later.”)

I am wondering if it has to do with Contact Form 7 not allowing to use a gmail address in “from” field. It has to be a [email protected].

Please let me know if this is the problem, and if I should use another form plugin, please advice.

    Have a good day,
    Kind regards,
    Eva

@eva29, I have just tested this on my website. It seems to be working fine. Can you send a test email from the “Test Email” tab?

    Hi @naa986,

Test email is successful. I receive the email to my gmail.

I also tried disactivating everything (but CF7 and Gmail SMTP) using Health check. Same result.

That is really strange. Can you deactivate Gmail SMTP and send an email using contact form 7?

No, I cannot use mail(), this is why I wish to use Gmail SMTP.

@eva29, The plugin uses wp_mail(), the default email function in WordPress, by connecting to a SMTP server. Even with the plugin deactivated, your contact form should still be able to send email using wp_mail().

@naa986, I made a test with Health Check to use wp_mail() function and it sent the email. I received it instantly.
