• I’m having a bit of a problem with my website’s contact forms, both using Contact Form 7. It contains two different ones, and both are having the same problem; a problem neither had a few months ago when my website first launched.

I do apologise if the links aren’t working; I tried to restore an older version using GoDaddy’s back-ups, but it ended up removing everything. I’m currently working to fix this, and hope my descriptions of the situation will be enough.

Whenever a form is filled and submitted, there are no problems on the front-end; the sender will receive the correct message telling them it’s been sent. Likewise, the Flamingo plug-in (since I’ve installed it) will contain a copy of the message.

However, whether or not the message will reach my email seems to be at random now. Sometimes I’ll receive it, sometimes I won’t. As a matter of fact, the order forms are supposed to email two addresses; my yahoo one, and my office 365 one, but they’ve NEVER been able to email the latter. I only added the yahoo one to it because initially, it at least worked with that one, but only now it’s been choosing to sometimes not show up in my inbox. I have been checking my spam folder too.

I tried updating my plug-ins and WordPress, but that didn’t change anything (all that did was ruin the appearance and features of my homepage, which is why I tried to restore an older version. Really wish I hadn’t now). The only other thing I can think of is it might be due to storage, but I can’t be sure; I’m still quite new to WordPress.

If anyone can help me identify the problem, and more importantly, a solution, I’d be very grateful.

    Thanks in advance.

  • It’s likely that at least some of your emails are getting treated as SPAM so you don’t receive them. Yahoo email addresses are particularly problematic.

See If You Have Email ProblemsYour email may be treated as spam. Most people that work carefully through this list of email sending issues are able to solve their particular problems.

    Hi Neil

Is there any reason I am getting alerts with your updates on this topic. Did I engage in this forum at some point, I don’t remember ?

    Thanks

My yahoo email is where the form’s messages are sent to, not what’s in the “From:” field. Even so, the emails aren’t being sent to my Office 365 email, which is connected to the same domain. I tried using an email connected to my domain for it, but it hasn’t improved anything.

It does seem like emails sent from these forms are being treated as spam like you said, but they’re not even going into my spam folder for either of my emails; they just don’t appear at all.

I tried the “reply-to”, but everytime I set it to something other than, word-for-word: “Reply-To: [your-email]”, I get a message about it begin incorrect syntax. I did try changing “[your-email]” to my own domain hosted email, but yeah, incorrect syntax apparently if it doesn’t read [your-email].

I’ll try looking into SPF and DKIM in the coming days, but the other methods in that list didn’t work.

It seems I am being included in all contact forum 7 forums even if I havent engaged. I did send one enquiry yesterday, which I still need help with but I seem to have have been included in all posts since then, can someone advise on this situation, thanks
