Contact Form 7 never sends email

    I would really like to use Contact Form 7 but it just does not send to the email. (Or to any email address) The form says that it was sent successfully each time but I never receive the emails. What do I need to check or change in my server, wordpress or any other file to make it work.

    I have just upgraded CF7 to v1.9.4. I had hoped that something changed. Yet it still does not work. For some reason CF7 does not work on my system.

    Please let me know what I can do to make CF7 work. I would like to move to WP 2.7.1 but need to resolve this plugin problem first. I has been bugging me for months.

  • Check with your hosting provider or mail provider that the emails aren’t being caught in their spam filter.

    Thanks for the advice. I have also tried sending though to another email account which is a different company.

    Is there anything that needs to be done or checked in wordpress, appached, mysql etc. I host my own server. Maybe a setting I must change to allow access through to the mail server? Any ideas would be appreciated.

    Check your PHP and that the mail() function works. You’ll need to speak to your host or run

    <?php phpinfo(); ?>

    from a PHP page and check that the mail function is indeed there.

    If you’ve set WP to use SMTP, check your settings.

    When you installed WordPress did you get a welcome email to your admin address, and if you pretend to forget your password do you get an email (btw, before changing it ensure you have access to your database and understand MD5 hashes to rectify a reset password with no notification)?

    Has anyone solved this problem yet? I worked for days on a contact 7 form and don’t receive the email information. Is the info stored anywhere? I do get email when I change a password or add a user.
