  • Be sure to check your Spam folder. It is very likely that they are being filtered out by your email provider.

You could try using one of the form submission capture plugins, such as Contact Form DB (free) or Storage for Contact Form 7 (commercial), to see if the entries get stored in your WordPress backend.

Thanks for the response. The first thing I did was look into the spam. What I don’t understand is that nothing has changed on my end. The plugin was working and now it’s not.

Thanks again for the response but I had already read the FAQ’s. I’ve tried everything it seems along with spending an hour on the phone with my host making sure they were not the problem.

I just don’t know what to do. Like I said earlier, I have changed nothing.

I am having the same exact problem. However one of our forms works fine. The other that has many more questions does not. I am so baffled. It’s causing problems with our customers who can’t get there information to us. I can’t understand what the issue is. I have exhausted hours on this issue.

same issue here .. i loved cf 7 too much but i had to switch to Jetpack Cntact Forms ..

Same issue here. We have been using CF7 for a long time without any issues. But today – we are not receiving any emails. We get the message the message was sent successfully but we are not receiving any emails.

Nothing in spam – where are our request forms going???????

Please help – this is a business killer.

And same issue here as well

form looks and works nicely, no error messages, but the emails never show up, tried different accounts, checked spam folders as well, nothing.

I had an older version of Contact Form 7 (3.8) so u upgraded it (to 3.8.1), that didn’t help either.

Here’s the form in case that helps https://maryfrances.ca/session-prep-form/, but the normal contact form is not sending emails either.

    Please help.

Glad to hear I’m not alone. Prior to posting here I have spent many hours working on this issue. I have done all the suggestions. Nothing works, not my host, not my email. I’ve used this contact form for around five sites. It’s not working on any of them. It’s a bummer… at this point I think I’m just going to have to find a new contact form.

i guess it pays to read other posts.

I tried the fix this guy found and it’s working again https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/contact-form-7-your-message-was-sent-successfully-but-not-receiving-emails?replies=11

    Scroll to the very bottom.

Hopefully this works for some of you as well.

@trobh1963 – Getting the “Your message was sent successfully” message is a very clear indication that CF7 is sending the email.

So your email is probably being seen as spam somewhere in the email process. This is usually due to email headers (in particular the From email address used) or email content.

Emails can be considered spam for a whole host of reasons and get rejected at many points in the email process in addition to your spam folder.

See Contact Form 7 Email Issues – this links to a much more comprehensive article which also covers emails being considered Junk.

The plugin is working for me on many different websites and several different servers. Any issue you have is almost certainly due to something on your local WP install.

@peterferriero, @elegance & style, @treb76 – As per the Forum Welcome, please post your own topic.

Posting in an existing topic prevents being able to track issues by topic. Added to which, your problem – despite any similarity in symptoms – is likely to be completely different.

@joegp – the solution you are pointing to is likely to only be applicable in a small percentage of cases.

There is no reliable way to debug email delivery issues without direct and full access to the sending server. The only reliable way of checking if the contact form submissions are working is by using the submission storage plugins mentioned above. You can assume that Contact Form 7 is not working only if you don’t see the submissions being captured by those plugins.

@kaspars – My experience is that the submission storage plugins are very robust and rarely fail to save a CF7 form submit.

They are not however always a good indication of CF7 sending emails. The green “Your message was sent successfully” message is IMHO a much clearer indicator that CF7 is sending the email.

The submission storage plugins appear to save a CF7 form submit even if the email is not sent due to a Javascript Conflict or unallowed From: email address.

This is partly why I think they are so often used by experienced WP users – they provide a robust record of all form submissions even when things go a little wrong.
