• Hi everyone,

I didn’t receive any emails for almost 1 month, suddenly someone told me that my email form is not working.

It was fine before, but then now it’s not sending emails at all.

When you press the Submit button, it gives you a little circle that goes round and round and takes you nowhere.

    Please help.

    Hi hg,

Unfortunately, there is absolutely nothing that anyone can do unless you show us your code. Can you please go to your site’s Dashboard > Contact > [Form name] and copy all the settings that you currently have there?

    Hi tomicakorac,

    Thank you for responding.

Currently my form name is: [contact-form-7 id=”2966″ title=”Contact form 1″]

    <p>Your Name (required)
    [text* your-name] </p>

    <p>Your Email (required)
    [email* your-email] </p>

    <p>Subject
    [text your-subject] </p>

    <p>Your Message
    [textarea your-message] </p>

    <p>[submit “Send”]</p>

I used to have more complex form, but now even only simple like this, still not working.

I tried to delete a few plugins to see if there is any conflict and didn’t make any difference.

    Thank you.

@hg – you didn’t include your content in the Mail section which is important in looking at email sending issues.

To have a look at your problem yourself – see Contact Form 7 Email Issues.

    Hi Buzztone,

    Thanks for the respond.
Yes, I tried to put my email in there and everything, still not working.

This is very strange. I deleted more plugins, change themes delete the Contact Form 7 and re-instal it, still not working.

    Anyone experienced this before?

When you are able to provide ALL the info I requested, I will be able to look at your problem again.

    Is this what you mean:

    To:
    [email protected]

    From:
    [email protected]

    Subject:
    [text-subject]

Additional headers: “I left it empty.”

File attachments: “I left it empty.”

    Use HTML content type

    Message body: (on the right):
    FROM
    From: [text-name]
    Email: [email-sender]
    Phone: [tel-607]

    Subject: [text-subject]

    Message Body:
    [textarea-message]

Your input all looks OK so the problem may be due to a JavaScript conflict with either your current WordPress theme or one of the other plugins you are using – see Contact Form 7 Email Issues – there is a link there that covers JavaScript Conflicts.

The spinning arrow is a common symptom of a JavaScript conflict.

Step by step approach to finding JavaScript Conflicts

    1. Switch temporarily to a WordPress default theme (Twenty Eleven etc.) and see if the problem goes away.

If it does, you’ve most likely got a JavaScript conflict with your current WordPress theme.

If switching to default theme doesn’t help it could be one of the plugins you are using that is causing the problem.

    2. Disable all plugins other than Contact Form 7

If doing that solves the problem, you can then add back each item – one by one, until you find the real cause of the problem.

    Hi buzztone,

I’ve done absolutely everything you wrote and still not working.
Oh my goodness…. this is a disaster for me.

    What else could I do?

    Thread Starter hg

    (@hg)

OK, after I was waiting for a few days and no help from anyone, I tried to hire someone who I thought knows wordpress more than me to help me out and still couldn’t find the answer.

I went through everything Buzztone told me to do and read his articles as well.

This is what I found after investigating:

I went in to the back end and open the database and I found 3 strangers (administrators) who I don’t even know. So, i deleted them and change the password of everything.

I couldn’t afford to waste my time investigating anymore, so I re-install the wordpress from zero, luckily I have the old database on my computer from before the problems occurred.

I reinstall the same plugins as I had before and switched between themes and no problems anymore.

So, maybe someone hacked it and ruin my contact page so i don’t have any incoming emails from new clients.

    Any opinion?

3 strangers as administrators sounds like a significant security breach, so any unusual behaviour could result from this.

Your working fresh install confirms you have now have no problems with your WordPress install, theme or plugins.

Good that you had a suitable backup.

You might also re-look at your security – we use Wordfence on all our sites.??????

    Yeah, that’s what I thought.

I few days trying to find out what was going on, but it’s OK now.
I’ve also had some wine. ??

Do you use Flamingo? I had the same issue, deactivated that and all is well again

No, have a read from the start then you’ll know.

This is very strange, most likely someone tried to hack. Even last night I had some stranger registered on my website. Now I’ve tried to make it as secure as I can.

If anyone knows any more ideas for security, please share.

The same is happening to me.

Used to work, no changes in the website and now im not recieving emails, but the message says it’s been sent.

    Any clues??
