  • Aaaah—yes. That’s my problem, too. IF the webformmailer.php is actually visible in there (looking in the root thru FTP) then it won’t work—just spinning arrows. In my case, GoDaddy “reinstalling” the file put an alias in there.

But earlier, when I DELETED that file, inexplicably, it worked. You might want to try it.

The GoDaddy guy also told me their servers are on a 15 minute cycle—only send emails that make it up there every 15 minutes—so you might not get it right away.

Thanks shazen and ninjojo – I’m going to monitor the plugin and see if it it stops working again. Then I’ll try shazen’s suggestion of changing the classes.php to the webformmailer.php – but I WON’T put it in the root directory!

Good info on the 15-minute cycle for the servers. That might cut down on the frustration… =)

Suddenly, a bunch of the emails from over 45 minutes ago are coming through. The GoDaddy guy said they were experiencing delays/backup so maybe that’s why. Oddly—now the CF7 formatting is gone in these emails. I don’t know if that has something to do with the GoDaddy form action file?

    Jeez—what a mess…

I’m gonna leave it overnight and see if it gets any better tomorrow! Good luck…

So—just to see, I renamed the webformmailer.php alias (rather than delete it) so it essentially wouldn’t be there. Then, the form worked like a charm—came through quickly with all formatting intact.

I’m thinking since it appears to be working without the file in there, that somehow it’s finding the correct file webformmailer.php anyways. Can anyone think of a reason not to proceed without that alias in there?

So they stopped working so I tried something dumb.

I deleted the CF7 plug in and reinstalled it. Through admin. Guess what…

Yeah—it seems to work. And this is just with the default settings! So no messing with webformmailer.php or anything. I’m going to keep testing it tonight to make sure it works reliably…

I tried deleting the plug in and reinstalling it and it is not working. I have spent HOURS trying to figure this out. I’m done.
Can anyone recommend another contact form to use???

OK, so the stupid thing started working last night. I tested again at 1:30 am and it worked. Now, it IS NOT WORKING!!! FARG!!!!

Has anyone found any answers in another forum? Any answer from Godaddy?

    Hi bulldogs1991CH and Shopman2,

I have tried 4 different contact form plugins, and all have the same problem. So this isn’t necessarily an issue with Contact Form 7 – it’s an issue with GoDaddy.

I’m finding that Contact Form 7 is working for me, but it takes anywhere from 15-60 minutes to receive the emails.

GoDaddy won’t touch this with a 10-foot pole, as it’s not using their PHP Form Mailer.

So I figure there are two solutions (and neither of them are great):

    1. Keep trying with Contact Form 7 (or any other WordPress plugin) but expect dodgy results

    2. Or, build your own contact form using GoDaddy’s PHP Form Mailer. You might have to hire someone to do this for you if you don’t know how.

For now, I’m trying to work with what’s there, and monitor the situation. If it gets really frustrating, I’ll write my own contact form.

    Good luck,
    Avery

I actually had another form, built from scratch w/ GoDaddy’s form action, and it didn’t work either. At least not last night…

GoDaddy support is useless on this. They keep bragging about how they are the biggest, best, etc… WHO CARES? They keep pointing to this line of code…
    <div class=”wpcf7″ id=”wpcf7-f3-p1178-o1″><form action=”/webinar-registration/#wpcf7-f3-p1178-o1

    anybody out there understand this?

GoDaddy is saying there is no directory in my hosting plan for this, so it is pointing nowhere. how in the heck could I change this line anyway?

Yes, bulldogs1991CJ, that is the problem that GoDaddy has with the plugin. That line of code isn’t necessarily bad, but it’s not compatible with them. They want things to run through their solution – their PHP Form Mailer.

Since you don’t know how to write code, I would suggest you either:

    1. Find someone who can write you a contact form from scratch using GoDaddy’s PHP Form Mailer. BUT – shazen suggests above that even this might not be a good solution, as he/she tried it and it didn’t work.

    2. Switch hosting companies

    3. Deal with it as it is =)

Bulldogs—look for it in the “classes.php” file. Under the plug-ins editor for CF7, it’s one of the files. Do a find on “form action” and you should (maybe?) see that string. I did—or a similar one, anyway—and replaced it with the “/webformmailer.php” that GoDaddy wanted to see, but it didn’t work any more reliably. But that’s just me!

i’m trying everything I can. has anyone just given up and switch from godaddy to someone else? did that work?

Hi bulldogs1991CJ – I have a number of client sites that are hosted elsewhere, and don’t have this problem. This seems to really only be a GoDaddy issue.
