The Godaddy email server sending my form output email is on 4 spam blacklists. Godaddy said they are petitioning those blacklists to get the server removed. But the client’s Time Warner Roadrunner email provider is still blocking the form output email.

I’ve included my own email address to catch these extremely important real estate inquiry emails and forward them to my client. Nothing will get lost, as my email is not blocking, but this is not suitable. And even if Godaddy moves the account to another email server, this could happen again.

What are my options here? Doesn’t Contact Form 7 use PHPMailer on the server, which always ties <[email protected]> to the client’s domain? Is there any way out of this situation?

I’ve added an SPF record to the DNS but of course this is a separate issue.

Thanks for the reply. I had already reviewed that page and it didn’t really address my particular situation.

A good solution seems to change the “To” email address from their Time Warner email to a Godaddy email address I create, one that’s used only for inquiries coming from their online form. Even if the Godaddy email server gets off those spam blacklists, there’s no guarantee it won’t get back on them again, and get blocked by Time Warner again.

Godaddy will not block their own email. And Client gets to keep their Time Warner address for all other messages. They will only have to suffer the minor inconvenience of checking another email account.

Have you thought about creating a new Gmail account like [email protected] and using it to install the plugin PostMan SMTP? After setting it up, the Gmail account would then be actually sending the mail instead of the website, I believe…
