Contact Form 7 – Phone Number Issue

Hello –
I am trying to use Contact Form 7 and the phone number is having some real issues. It keeps wanting to format like this:
+1-xxx-xxx-xx-xx
I have tried several different things and nothing seems to work. How do I get this to stop? I live in the United States I don’t need the plus one or the dash in between the last four numbers. That will confuse people and our CRM system.
Does anyone have any advice?

You are using the Chidit theme. The theme uses the input masking on the input type tel.
Below is the code in your theme’s JS file which causes this:$('input[type="tel"]').mask("+0-000-000-00-00")To remove this add following JS:
jQuery(document).ready( function() { jQuery('input[type="tel"]').unmask(); });
