• I developed my site in a sub directory.
I decided to leave the WordPress install in the sub directory when I made the site live.
Everything is working just fine except Contact Forms 7
When someone tries to submit the form the little arrows show but then nothing, it never submits.
It did prior to changing the site address url.

I’m assuming that Contact Form 7 is just confused as to where to find the submission function?
Anyone else run into this or have any ideas?

Which contact form do you mean?

    Sorry I wasn’t more specific.
There are a few on the site.
For example there’s one on the home page, if you click newsletters (near the bottom) it’s in a popup

there’s another one on the contact page, not in a pop up at:
    https://empireguitarsri.com/contact-us

    [No bumping, thank you.]

I’m having this same issue – when I change my site URL or WP URL, the contact form 7 forms stop sending email – as well as other WP emails for new users, new comments. Please help.

    Another one checking in here.
CF7 has been flawless, up until I changed the Site URL when it went live, now when anyone submits a form, the E-Mails all deliver no problem, but the spinning symbol just remains there. No confirmation or anything. The worst part about it is that if there are validation errors in the form, the user won’t know because it doesn’t tell them!

I’ve tried the solution of turning ajax off in the main php file, and while that allows the validation to appear, it stops CF7 Datepicker from working, which is no good for me.

The only other thing I can think of is that I briefly enabled WP Super Cache, but then decided I wasn’t going to use the plugin, so I de-activated and removed it. Don’t think this is a problem though because the plugin is no longer installed.

Really need a fix for this one!! Please, if anyone can help, it would be most appreciated!!

I ended up just using another plugin because I just had to get this solved for my client. It sucked having to redo it but at least now the site is working

Well, I’ve still been playing and I managed to fix mine just now!!

    My fix:
    Dashboard -> Updates -> Re-install WordPress.

Believe it or not, that did it, and now CF7 works again!!
God knows what the issue was but that re-install literally took 5 seconds and it was back.

Odd. Hope this helps anyone else with the same issue!

This has previously been reported as an issue with WP Super Cache in this forum. Apparently the WP Super Cache plugin is not fully removed when deactivated and creates an ongoing error.

Gilb2406 being able to fix his problem by reinstalling WordPress indicates this may have been the source of their error.

I believe that the changing URL factor is a further symptom of problems on the relevant site rather than a root cause.

The real cause is most likely a Javascript Conflict caused by the theme or another plugin.

Like many other popular plugins, CF7 is frequently reported as not working in the WordPress Forums when the real cause is conflict from another theme or plugin.

FWIW – I was having unrelated issues with Contact Form 7, since upgrading to WordPress version 3.5.2 and Contact Form 7 version 3.4.2 problems went away

@jgravesnbs – This indicates that you had some unknown issues in your particular install of WordPress or CF7. Upgrading overwrote the relevant folders amd removed these issues.
