    Hello!
Novice user.. Just launched new website using X Theme. Everything looked good. Tested the Contact Form 7, and received the error: There was an error trying to send your message. Please try again later. (with orange border and orange fill). I have tried many troubleshooting suggestions.
    1. Added contact form 7 reCaptcha extension. Refreshed. Still didn’t work
    2. Added smtp using WP Mail SMTP- with Gmail Api. Test email worked (through that plugin)
    3. Installed WP-reCaptcha . Still didn’t work (read someone said to install that).

I have tried deactivating some/all of these with the same results. I initially used v3 recaptua interrogation. Then tried v2. Didn’t work. So back to v3.

I am at a loss and can’t get my mind around this. Hoping someone has some suggestions. I have a couple of other pages on website that use the forms as well. Thanks for any help!!!

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • It might be that you are experiencing another issue, more specific to your website.

    This is helpful advice.

I advise everyone having the issue, to remove the reCaptcha keys from the Integrations tab, at least temporarily, until a fix is being released.

    This is unhelpful advice IMO.

@buzztone Do you care to elaborate of why exactly that is not unhelpful advice?
Especially when the issue is related to a bug in reCaptcha integration, blocking genuine messages to being sent.

Well after a few weeks of making website under construction to see if anyone could sort this out, I find there seems to still be no solutions??? I have tried to go back to original Contact Form 7, but still, am receiving the error:

Tried submitting the form and get: There was an error trying to send your message. Please try again later.

I was enjoying using contact form 7 for its ease, but are there any other “free” suggestions that would be better- that actually work? Thanks All!

@fvcmedia This worked for me – thank you very much. Would you consider releasing your fix as a plugin?

After many hours of frustration, testing, and Googling… I stumbled across one of the suggestions above. I disabled the Google Recaptcha v3 (deleted the keys), and voila… website forms now work again. Sucks to lose the Recaptcha, but at least visitors can contact us again.

Our Recaptcha V3 keys are correct, and we receive an orange box with orange text when trying to send a message @ the footer our website.

There is a JavaScript console error:

Uncaught ReferenceError: grecaptcha is not defined

Sorry to jump in here but I am having the same error and nothing I have done gets me away from the error. I ve went from V2 to V3 and back. I’m at a loss.

@insightdes & @yagervideo – – see I have the same problem! Can I just reply to someone else’s post with “Me too”?.

Removing the keys worked for me. Thanks for sharing!

    Hi,

    I had the same issue.
    reCAPTCHA v3
    WordPress 4.9.10
    Contact form Version 5.1.3

I tried multiple contact forms, with and without reCAPTCHA, but it still did not make a difference.

I also a message in my WordPress Dashboard saying “You cannot update because WordPress 5.2.2 requires PHP version 5.6.20 or higher. You are running version 5.4.45.”

So I upgraded my PHP to 5.6 and the contact form worked immediately. I you can do the same and this will resolve your problem.

    Thanks

    I’m having this same issue.
    PHP 7.0
    WordPress 5.2.2
    CF7 5.1.3
    ReCapthca v3

Any tips for getting this working?

I am having this issue on my site https://www.englishtutorcheshire.co.uk, but only in IE. Chrome and Safari work fine.

When the form has been filled in and the ‘Send’ button clicked an orange bordered box appears with the words:
There was an error trying to send your message. Please try again later.

Recaptcha has been installed and works fine.

I have no idea how to fix this. Please can someone advise me.
    Thanks
    Jonathan

    Same here, any updates?

    @jonathan1962

Recaptcha has been installed and works fine.

How can I check whether recaptcha works fine?

@nevetsza, @mcfarnell, @jonathan1962 & @rraallvv – see I have the same problem! Can I just reply to someone else’s post with “Me too”?.
